Today I got my my album via iTunes, I have always wanted to buy music through iTunes. Since iTunes has not launched in India that was not possible. So I had to get Jason to gift me the album.

I think its one of the best albums since I got Jack Johnson... The music is more or less similar. I have been playing it over and over.

My favorite tracks: Daylight Savings, Embarcadero Blues, Natalie Portman and El Camino.

Global Drum and Bass Port to Rails

David "DJ Cookie" Killingsworth and I have been working on this side project called Global Drum and Bass, we are near completion of the project, we have pratically everything we need lined up for this.

We are going to replace Xoop with Ruby on Rails. I have already touch my first internal Beta. Just waiting for a good design before releaseing a Public Beta (Web 2.0 Required from what I understand).

As with all our projects, this is going to be free of charge for everyone.

iTunes and Podcasting

I am very excited with this new release of iTunes. This is mainly cause Apple has added Podcast support. They also release a iPod update so you can sort your podcasts. I had a bit of a rough time updating my iPod for some reason it kept on creating a playlist and not a menu. After a while I got sick of it and decided to stick with the play list. When I reached home and powered on my Powerbook and connected my iPod it finally updated the firmware on it.

I like the engadget podcast, they are really cool. I am looking out for some good political interviews and shows. Any recommendations? Apple has also published a small document on how you can create good podcast using the Apple Garage Band. You can find that document here.

Dire Straits, March 5th!

After a long time a international rock band is going to perform in Bombay. Finally our illiterate and greedy politicians have learnt their lesson.

Dire Straits are going to perform in Bombay at the MMRDA Grounds on March 5th.

*p.s.* Suhit if your reading this: I NEED A BACKSTAGE PASS!!

Video killed the radio star... dont think so.

For all those of you who think that the radio is dead this goes out for you.

I got hooked on to internet radio a couple months back while I was working for the "World Social Forum":http://www.wsfindia.org. The best part of internet radio is the choice of music stations you have to chose from. To start a internet radio station is very easy so the number keeps on increasing ever day. The cool part is that more and more radio stations are moving to the "Ogg Vorbis":http://www.vorbis.org format. Which is a really cool open standard, music format thats slowly taking over MP3. "Ogg Vorbis":http://www.vorbis.org is good quality in small packets ;).
