Drupal and Moblogs

bq. Moblog is a blend of the words mobile and weblog. A mobile weblog, or moblog, consists of content posted to the Internet from a mobile or portable device, such as a cellular phone or PDA. Moblogs generally involve technology which allows publishing from a mobile device. --Wikipedia

You can start moblogin under Drupal in less than 10 minutes. There are a couple of bloging clients that you can use. Some of them are free and some are charged services. I picked PicoBlogger2 because, it does not bind you to one service. PicoBlogger2 supports all the major blogging apis, flickr and their own picostation service. PicoBlogger2 also supports AutoBlogger.

*Setting up Drupal*

* Login as administrator
* Go to the module settings page
* Enable BlogAPI module and save your changes
* Go to the BlogAPI Module settings page.
* Setup Drupal to use MoveableType API

The configuration for drupal is now complete. You will now need to setup your blog client.

*Installing and setting up PicoBlogger2*

PicoBlogger2 currently supports Winmobile and SymbianOS

* Get the latest copy of PicoBlogger2 from: http://www.picostation.com/downloads.aspx
* Extract and Install the file, refer to the documentation for this.
* Launch PicoBlogger2 on your phone or pda
* You will now be asked to setup a default PicoStation account. This is not required but its is recommended.
* Go to Blog Accounts
* Select "MoveableType API"
* Your end point should be something like this, http://www.mydomain.com/xmlrpc.php
* The other fields are pretty self explanatory.
* Save your account.

And thats about it :) Happy mobloging. Thanks to PicoStation for creating such a good client and most of all keeping it open.

Unfortunately I can't get this pico blogger software working on n series mobiles. It installs but won't log me in to alow configuration. Pico people haven't responded to ann support requests I've sent.
I'm trying to find a way to moblog from my N95 via moveable type (or any blogAPI standard) to my drupal based site, but can't find a simple workable piece of software that works.
Nokia's Lifeblog software would be OK to use, if only iit supported other standards. Or perhaps there should be Drupal module that supports the lifeblog app!
I don't suppose you've any experience or found a way to blog from a Nokia N Series device?

I dont own a N Series mobile

I dont own a N Series mobile phone, but the quickest solution to your problem is using the Drupal Mailhandler Module [1]. This allows you to create a blog, comment etc by sending a email to a specific address that Drupal polls every few minutes. I have used this for integrating mailing lists into forums and it worked out great. You could do the same for blogs.
