GNUnify 2005'
Finally I made it to GNUnify! My scheduled talks are on “Getting involved in the FLOSS Movement”. I really hope it goes good since I did not have the time to make a presentation or even come up with the points to speak about. But I did manage to scribble down something on my way over here.
Hoping to give a join talk on Ruby with Premshree may be if i get some time even talk about Ruby On Rails.
Update Oh the talks were tooo awesome. It started off a bit slow with only 10 people attending the Ruby talk but later for the “Getting involved in the FLOSS Movement” we had nearly 60-70 people.
I even managed to talk about Ruby on Rails after my main talk. It was funny I had this big bunch of Java, PHP and Python programmers who spoke to me about helping them make a transaction to Ruby and Ruby on Rails :D.
I could not do a demo because the projector was not working with any laptop. But I did manage to put down the URL for David's videos
Later got stormed by people, from students wanting to get involved in free software to people who wanted to start a business around free software so they can contribute back code to the community. I spoke to this interesting man who owns a engineering college in Hyderabad. They acutally use only free software there. :)
Ah im tired! My talk was scheduled for only 30 minutes. But people streached it on for 3 hours. The cool part was even the guy who had to speak after me took it pretty well and helped out when ever possible.
Also gave away a cartload of Ubuntu thanks to Bhaskar Ghose.
